Holland Film Farm offers intensive 8 day film courses.

You’ll be taught all the necessary skills to make a short film. 

You will learn how to research, direct, produce, shoot, and edit a short film. You will also learn all the necessary camera, drone and sound skills.

It’s a great start to your film career!

Next course 24th to 31st August

You’ll be staying and working at a farm in the Dutch countryside for an intensive 8 day film retreat. There is a maximum of eight students per course so you will get lots of personal attention from our teachers.

Our course is very practical: you’ll already be handling a professional video camera on day 1 and going out into the field on day 2.

The course will enable you to make short or long films for whatever purpose. For a lot of students, our course has facilitated their entry into a film school, making a short film for a business situation or to furthering their general career.

The course includes master classes with well-known Dutch media personalities. At the end of the week, you will take your own documentary style film with your name on the credits made in collaboration with your fellow students, this will help you in your future film career.

TON van der LEE

Ton van der Lee has directed and produced more than 20 feature documentaries and series in Europe, Africa and the US. He has also written and produced TV drama and feature films. His films have been broadcast in many countries and have been shown at a number of international festivals. His feature documentary ‘Rock ‘n Roll Junkie’ about rockstar Herman Brood was voted best postwar biopic by Dutch viewers. He has also published 15 books.

Katinka de Maar has directed a number of feature documentaries for Dutch television. She has won several prizes with her work. Katinka’s series ‘100 Dagen Voor de Klas’ has been broadcast in 2020 and received a nomination for the prestigious Nipkow prize. In the following years she made two other successful follow ups. ‘100 Dagen in je Hoofd’ about people in a psychiatric institution and a third series about a forgotten neighborhood, where natives and immigrants suffer under Dutch political policy. She is currently working on a series on youth care.

IAN DAVIDSON

Ian has worked in the TV business in the UK for over 25 years. Having worked as a video editor, sound recordist, cameraman, sound post-production engineer among other technical roles in film and television. He has worked for all the major UK networks. With a business partner he co-founded Conscious Life , a subscription based online platform offering courses, live streamed events and documentaries. In the last few years he has been travelling to differnent countries to record events as a one man technical crew.
